Can Tarot Readings Predict a Relationships Potential?

cards and crystalsTarot is possibly the most accurate and revealing of the prediction tools as acting to give an indication of how a relationship is going to develop. If you want an illustration of your past and how it affects your everyday life and possible future a Tarot reading from a psychic may give you the answers you are looking for.

The cards can be very good at forecasting because at the start there is an in-depth discussion of your current situation and how things from the past have shaped the here and now. The basis of a good reading has to establish what has happened in the past before any predictions for the future can even be considered. The past is our roots and preconceived ideas have been ingrained since birth, so these anomalies need to be understood before moving forward to embrace the future.

There are multiple ways on how to read the cards after dealing them out. When laid out each card has a symbol depicting an emotion or a stage in life-based on the early middle or late sets. A good psychic reading will focus on how the cards are displayed and give a reading based on the discussion of past events and happenings that have been imparted beforehand.

Classic Tarot Cards

The lovers: As the cards are dealt, every girl is interested to see this card turn over, but the target is to see it in the present rather than in the future. This is the soul mate card and if turned in the past represents a lost love and maybe regrets not pushing forward with a relationship. It may also indicate a preconceived view of the person you think you want to spend the rest of your life with, however as you progress with the reading more clarity will appear.

The Tower: If this card appears in the past it is an indication of a major break up and can confirm a rejection. Chaos is all around you if this card appears in the present and this indicates why you are seeking a reading at this time. The tower being turned in the future is a bright sign of love and a possibility of moving either to a new abode or possible career shift.

The Fool: This symbol is easy going signaling joy and frivolity. If this appears in the present the connotations are of a casual relationship which may or may not develop. It is the dream card that if appearing in the present may indicate a dalliance or secret desire for something that you know you should not have. Depending on how this card is turned in relation to others may indicate the cessation of a long-held fantasy.

Kings: If this card appears in the past of a women’s reading it indicates a domineering male presence, possibly a father figure or a forth right boss. However, if the king appears in the future it is a good indication that you will soon meet a man who will look after you and provide a bounteous future.

The Suits

In the tarot deck there are four suits; wands, pentacles, swords and cups. Each of the four suits relate to several different aspects and speak of a wide range of potentials. Each of the suits are also related to one of the four astrological elements, which in turn govern the pertaining zodiac signs. However, in a nutshell, these suits are represented thus;

Wands: The wands relate to one’s vital energy, inspiration, their creative capacity, spirituality and one’s ambition. The wands can also speak of opportunities, adventure in a person’s life. The wands relate to the element of Fire and therefore, the astrological signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. If for example the king of wands is drawn in your love reading then it may indicate that you will meet or are currently engaging with a strong male figure, possibly older than you who is either a Leo, Sagittarius or Aries man.

Pentacles: The pentacles represents money, abundance, career, business, work, trading and material possessions. The pentacles can also represent anything you are trying to manifest in your life, especially for material gain. The pentacles are related to the element of Earth in astrology and, therefore, specifically relate to a Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn character. So, if for example, the page of pentacles is drawn in your love reading then this could indicate perhaps Virgo men in your life and specifically, one who is younger than you or perhaps of lower status in the work environment as it is the page card.

Swords: The swords represents mental energy, action, ambition, one’s courage and any conflict that may be going on in a person’s life. The suit of swords is represented by the element of Air in astrology and specifically relates to a Libra, Gemini or Aquarius character. So, in your love reading if the Queen of swords is drawn for example, then this may represent you in a powerful position and in charge of your thoughts and having clarity of thought and easily being able to see the way forward. If can of course, also represent another person in your life with strong mental faculties and possibly someone who is older than you and helping guide you in your decisions about your relationship.

Cups: The suit of cups represents emotions and are also directly associated with the feelings of love, relationships and emotional connections. This suit relates to the astrological element of Water and, therefore, may represent someone who is a Scorpio, Pisces or Cancer in your life. So, if for example, the ten of cups is drawn in your reading then this can represent all you wishes coming true with regards to a relationship and can even speak of marriage or a solid connection and union with someone else.

History of Tarot Card Readings

some tarot cards in front of a candleEven if you are not into fortune telling, you probably would have come across an unusual deck of cards and wondered what they were and how they worked. The absolute basic of Tarot cards is to foretell a person’s future, get an indication of their past or even help them to re-establish their lives by pointing them in the right direction. The art of tarot card reading is often fraught with misconceptions and myths brought forward by skeptical people who have not given themselves a chance to understand this fascinating subject.

A deck of Tarot cards is made up of 78 image cards, which are split between two categories, which are the Major and the Minor Arcana. The majority of cards some 56 falls into the Minor Arcana with the other 22 into the Major Arcana. The Major section provides an indication of overall spiritual meaning and the Minor events occurring on the practical side of our everyday lives. Each card has its own interpretation and individual meaning.

Each card has a suggested meaning with an overall structure but each individual Tarot card reader may have their own interpretation into the way a deck is dealt and the cards turned. This can sometimes be misleading as each Tarot reader will envisage differing situations in regard to the sequence in which the cards are turned.

Tarot Card History

Tarot cards originated in northern Italy around the beginning of the fifteenth century which is not as old as a lot of people imagine. Tarot cards were first invented as a card game and they were known as ‘Triumph’ cards and the game was along the same lines as our modern day game of Bridge. There is some evidence that these cards were used to predict future events the art of divination did not become popular until the early eighteenth century.

Tarot cards nowadays are used exclusively for fortune telling, or this is what most people think, but this is not true. A trained Tarot card reader will help you by reading the cards to discover your inner self. This is why Tarot cards are linked with astrology and the overall readings supplied by your natal chart which is based on the time and date of your birth.

A Tarot card reading is just an indication of how you can possibly improve your life in relation to health, relationships and general well-being. It is not something that will give you instant answers to all your problems but it should help to make you look at yourself with a new eye to see how you can make subtle changes to improve your overall environment.

A Tarot reading is very personal to the individual. Some believe it will predict the future and point the way forward to making a decision on a relationship. This can be dangerous because as mentioned earlier, a reader who is trained and still very proficient may have a different interpretation on how the cards are shuffled and dealt by you.

How is Tarot Connected to Astrology?

a deck of tarot cardsIn the modern world of today with advances made in technology, internet, and computer systems, there seems very little room for anything connected to the occult or to the supernatural. More and more people have come to believe that science is the driving factor in our lives, and sometimes forget the methods generations used before the laws of physics introduced by Newton.

A science of course cannot be regarded as useless, but sometimes scientists forget that we are not machines but made up of a skeleton with muscle covered in skin, and we all naturally contain a proportion of spiritual element. Tarot is one method that we can use to understand more about our spiritual connections which are another process closely aligned with astrology. This is something that is rejected by science, but why are so many people convinced that our lives are ruled or guide by the universe?

Misconceptions abound with many people regarding Tarot card reading. Some even think it is linked to witchcraft and evil demons mainly understandably because of the graphic images on some of the cards. However, this is totally wrong. Tarot first became noticed in Italy in the early fifteenth century and was originally used as a card game of leisure similar to bridge.

Astrology and Tarot connection

Tarot was late appearing in western culture and was introduced by a Catholic priest, Eliphas Levi in the early nineteenth century who based his principles on different religions from around the world. Levi made the claim that the Tarot cards would assist his students in finding self-improvement and enlightenment. Another scholar of the time A.E. Waite surmised that the cards may be used to forecast future events and his Rider-Waite card packs are the most widely accepted today.

The Tarot is based on the same principles as astrology having sub-divided sections or houses to predict past and future events as well as an assessment of physical characteristics and interactions. The zodiac in astrology is based on the four elements of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air and then divided under the twelve zodiacal signs. The fire signs are Leo, Sagittarius, and Aries. Water signs are Scorpio, Pisces, and Cancer. Earth are Capricorn, Virgo, and Taurus. Air are Gemini, Aquarius, and Libra.

Regardless of whether a person believes that there is a way for telling the future either by astrology or Tarot it should not be regarded as evil or in some way the bearer of doom. A gifted psychic has been proven on multiple occasions to uncannily predict events, and a qualified astrologer has used their skills to help numerous people regarding health, and long-term relationships among other everyday experiences.

Tarot cards are a fun experience if used in the right hands as well as being very useful and accurate, so there is no reason why they cannot be incorporated into today’s society and accepted in the same way as astrology is. The zodiacal horoscope is read by millions of people every day in their newspapers, how long before Tarot is appreciated in the same way?

My Passion For Tarot & Synastry

a deck of tarot cardsIt has been a decision that has been a long time coming, but I have decided to blog about a passion of mine that has been close to my heart since my school days, but one that I never really felt comfortable sharing publicly, until now. That passion is Tarot and Synastry. For those of you who don’t know, Synastry is a discipline of astrology which deals particularly with the areas of romantic relationships in a person’s life. You, like me, may have read many horoscope predictions in the local newspaper informing and advising you about various aspects of your love life. It has long been accepted that astrology can indeed predict this area of a person’s life and I personally have had many instances of that being the case. Using the Tarot is also a method of ancient divination, which can also speak of a person’s love life and point out possible pit-falls and opportunities that may be on the horizon.

The tarot deck used for a tarot reading has a direct and strong correlation to certain aspects of astrology. For instance, the four suits being swords, wands, pentacles and cups also relate directly to the four elements in astrology, air, fire, earth and water. For a more clear depiction of these correlations, they are associates thus;

  • Swords = Air – Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
  • Wands = Fire – Sagittarius, Leo, Aries
  • Pentacles = Earth – Taurus, Capricorn, Virgo
  • Cups = Water – Scorpio, Cancer, Pisces

There are also further meanings and interpretations associated with the cards, for example, the Swords relate to the mind and mental thinking, the Wands often relate to a person’s energy and the opportunities in their life, the Pentacles speak of money, career and finances and the cups talk about emotions. Each card also has a specific significance along with how and when it is drawn and any intuitive messages picked up by the reader. So there is actually quite a lot of information that a reader can pick up on by using and working with the tarot deck. Of course, there is a lot open to interpretation, but if you are having a reading by an experienced tarot reader then you can indeed gain accurate and detailed information in any area of your life.

Synastry in particular is my point of interest so I will be mainly discussing topics around relationships with regards to the tarot. However, I will also start off giving you some insight into the interesting history of tarot, how it came to be and how it has been used throughout the more recent centuries.

I hope you will enjoy my new blog and find tarot and the art of synastry as fascinating and exciting as I have! For more insights into tarot and synastry, please see my homepage here
